I vaguely recall October 10, 2007. I was helping Billy Watson with a Manojob shoot while occasionally checking the adult news/gossip sites. At that point, my former mentor, Chico “Wanker ” Wang, was avoiding Porn Valley the way I avoid vegetables at a buffet. You see, Chico was accused of domestic violence, and I was one of the last people in the industry to see him. It stemmed from an issue between him and performer Haley Paige. He was taken into police custody, and his other production assistant and I visited him in the ‘can’. He was a regular Phil Leotardo, that one. Anyways, he spent the Summer of 2007 away from Porn Valley. I didn’t know where he was. Neither did Hung Lo. Yeah, that was the name Chico gave the dude. Anyway, I was fortunate to link up with Billy Watson during that time and began editing for him. And then it happened…..Luke Ford broke the news that Chico and Haley were dead. You gotta understand something: I never imagined Chico would die. He seemed like the German cockroach—invincible to the elements and immortal. Chico died on 09/29, Haley a few days before.
I’ll go more into detail about the insane world Chico Wang was responsible for. However, I still can’t believe it’s been 18 years. I miss her, I don’t miss him.
